Darryl L. Mobley, Host Season 4 Episode 32

The great Frederick Douglass (google him) inspired this thought:

"Those companies and individuals who profess to favor equal opportunity for those they have avoided hiring, and yet deprecate true change of their own behavior and results, are phonies who say they want to share power, without giving up their power."

Join Darryl Mobley in this powerful 90 Seconds with Catapult Leaders as he explores what's really causing the lack of hiring progress as it regards Black entry-level employees.

Season 4. Episode 32. #7 of 28 in special series on hurdles.

Welcome to 90 Seconds with Catapult Leaders.

This is Darryl Mobley.

This is the 7th episode on hurdles some face – that others don’t.

The great Frederick Douglass said:

“If there is no struggle, there is no progress.

Those who profess to favor freedom and yet deprecate agitation are men who want crops without plowing the ground.

They want rain without thunder and lightning.

They want the ocean without the roar of its mighty waters.

The struggle may be a moral one or it may be a physical one, or it may be both moral and physical, but it must be a struggle.

Power concedes nothing without a demand.

It never has and it never will.”

Inspired by Frederick Douglass, we at Catapult Leaders say:

“If there is no change in behavior, there is no progress.

Those companies and individuals who profess to favor equal opportunity for those they have avoided hiring, and yet deprecate true change of their own behavior and results, are phonies who say they want to share power, without giving up their power.

They want applause for their stated intentions without scrutiny of their results.

They want the allusion of effort without changing the status quo.

The changes may be policy ones or may be a physical ones, or they may be both policy and physical, but there must be massive change.

Power is never shared without true change in behavior.

It never has been and it never will be.”

Frederick Douglass’ message applies to today’s struggle.
